Pursuit From Bixby Knolls To Belmont Shore After Suspect Allegedly Steals An Ambulance

(UPDATED 1:25 p.m. from Oct. 22, 2015, 1:55 a.m.) -- An LBPD pursuit began in Bixby Knolls last night (Oct. 21) and ended a few minutes later at the western end of Belmont Shore on Livingston and Termino after a suspect (now in custody) allegedly stole an ambulance.

LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Paul Baum tells LBREPORT.com that the pursuit was initiated in the 3800 block of Long Beach Blvd. at about 11:20 p.m. in response to an ambulance reported stolen shortly after 11:00 p.m.

The pursuit didn't reach a high speed level and terminated safely shortly after 11:35 p.m. in the area of Livingston Dr./Termino Ave., where the suspect driver was safely taken into custody.

[UPDATE] LBPD identifies the arrestee as Carlos Rene Garciaaguillon, 25, of Long Beach who was booked for evading, grand theft auto & vehicle theft.

The location where the pursuit ended has been made more precise: Livingston between Ximeno and 2nd.
