Sept. 11, LB On Alert After East Coast Terror Attacks: LB Port Closed, LB Airport Closed; LB World Trade Center Voluntarily Evacuated

    City Council meeting cancelled

(Sept. 11, 2001 - first post 10:00 a.m., updated 12:20 p.m.) -- LB's Port and LB Airport (by FAA order) were closed as of 9:45 a.m. today, and LB's downtown World Trade Center has voluntarily evacuated, within hours of this morning's terror attacks on the east coast.

LB Public Information officer Kathy Parsons told LBReport.com that City Hall is continuing to operate but, for the moment, an employee pass is required to enter the building.

Ms. Parsons said the City Council meeting scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.
