(Sept. 17, 2002) -- Who killed this cat?

Like a character in an old Johnny Cash song, "Sue" was a boy, not a girl. He was living happily with his owner near Termino and Mayfield Aves. (between 10th and 11th Sts.) until September 14 when someone took aim at him with a BB gun, squeezed the trigger and mortally wounded him. He died at a local vet later that night.

"Big Sue" or "Susie" (as he was sometimes called) was well known to people in the neighborhood. Sue's owner told LBReport.com:

"He wandered in about 5 years ago and chose to stay. Many people stopped and petted him. He was well loved, as is evident from the reactions of the neighbors after hearing of his passing. He left behind many heartbroken people."
