(September 5, 2002) -- Retired LB Police Chief Robert Luman is Redondo Beach's new Chief of Police, effective Sept. 9.
Luman served 32 years in the LBPD, including more than three years as LB's Chief of Police. He retired from his LBPD post in November, 1999. He then handled a stint as interim police chief for the Riverside Police Dept.
In a release issued by the City of Redondo Beach, Chief Luman is quoted as saying, "I can’t wait to get back into action. The Redondo Beach Police Department is a very strong department with a solid record."
Redondo Beach City Manager Louis Garcia told LBReport.com that Chief Luman will receive a base salary of $132,780 plus benefits.
