City Manager's Office Invites Public Input -- Including By Email -- In Selection of New Chief of Police
(Sept. 25, 2002) -- In a break with tradition, the City Manager's Office -- which hires LB's Chief of Police -- is inviting public input in the selection of LB's next Police Chief...and is accepting communications by email (link below).
A written release today states in pertinent part:
"The City Manager's Office is seeking input from the community as to the qualities considered most important in the next Police Chief. Public input received by the deadline of 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2002, will be used in formulating interview questions for Police Chief candidates."
The release adds that comments may be submitted by a number of methods, including email...but they must be received no later than 4 p.m. Monday Sept. 30.
