LBPD Brothers Bust Suspect With Baggie In His Butt

(Sept. 3, 2003) -- LBPD Sgt. Paul LeBaron (one of the department's Public Information Officers) and his brother, Officer Ryan LeBaron are both LBPD cops...and were working together on Sunday August 31 patroling the area in the 600 block of Elm Ave.

LBPD Public Information Officer Greg Schirmber says the LeBaron brothers were conducting a "walk and talk," speaking with neighbors following complaints of drug sales in the area and using information also provided by LBPD Officer Crawford.

The LeBarons spotted a suspect in a suspicious vehicle and learned he had a warrant for his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon. They arrested him and at the LB city jail a baggie of what the officers believed to be rock cocaine was found in his buttocks.

The two officers also recovered a large amount of money from the suspect.

The LeBarons then went back to Elm Ave. and, PIO Schirmer says, found neighborhood residents very appreciative of the arrest.
