(September 5, 2005) -- This grassroots "Lemon-Aid" lemonade stand, created by children from Carver Elementary School, was one of several spotted citywide over the Labor Day weekend, raising Hurricane Katrina relief funds.
In two days, thanks to many generous (and apparently thirsty) neighbors, this ELB stand netted $650 for the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief program.
[We cropped out the kids' faces since we try not to show pictures of children on the internet... but kudos to these kids (and their parents) for their efforts. And thank you to one of their parents for emailing the photo.]
Another newstipster said she spotted an especially "cute" (her word) lemonade stand in the area of Redondo and 3d/Coronado.
