LBPD Public Information Office Nancy Pratt tells LBReport.com that at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, a women went into the ladies room (in Buidling D) to use the facilities. The suspect forced his way into the bathroom stall, forced her onto the ground...and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans and brown tennis shoes.
LBPD says it has created a safety advisory flier that LBCC campus police will be handing out first thing Wednesday morning, encouraging the student community to practice the following safety tips:
- Report suspicious activity immediately to 9-1-1 or from a phone on campus call 4-9-1-1.
- Always be alert and aware of the people around you
- Be aware of locations and situations which could make you vulnerable to crime, such as dark parking lots, walkways and restrooms
- Park and walk in the most well-lighted area possible

- Whenever possible, travel with a friend -- there is safety in numbers
- Walk close to the curb and avoid doorways, bushes and alleys where someone could hide
- Walk confidently and at a steady pace and make eye contact with people when walking
- Keep your keys in your hand when walking to your vehicle
- Keep windows and doors locked
- Check the interior before getting into your vehicle
- If you are followed, do not drive home - drive to the nearest open business or police station
If you are a victim of a sexual assault, call police immediately! Be prepared to provide them with as much suspect information as possible and adhere to the following:
- DO NOT shower or douche; this will destroy crucial evidence
- DO NOT change clothes
- DO NOT take any medication
- DO NOT straighten up the crime scene
Anyone who may have any information regarding this assault is urged to contact Detectives Louie Galvan and Jennifer Kearns of the Long Beach Police Department’s Sex Crimes Detail at (562) 570-7368.
