Heather Altman's Egrets Not Regrets.com "Extravaganza" Invites Enviros & Public To Gaslamp Restaurant On Sept. 17, 6-8 p.m. For Education/Volunteer Fair + Wine + Friends + Fun
(Sept. 15, 2009) -- Heather Altman, who created and webmasters EgretsNotRegrets.com (and was formerly Exec. Dir. of the Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust) is readying the "Extravaganza" that her website describes as "essentially an environmental education and volunteer fair" in which every local environmental organization is invited to take part...and can have its own table to display information, educate the public, solicit volunteers and put out a donation bin (event logo above, right).
The event -- which is open to the public -- is set for the Gaslamp Restaurant, 6251 E. PCH (corner PCH/Loynes) on Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m.
Scheduled participants include Friends of the Colorado Lagoon, Compassionate Cuisine, Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust, Sierra Club, Eco-Link, City of Long Beach, Office of Sustainability and El Dorado Audubon. (Other local enviro groups are welcome but reservations for groups are mandatory; send an email to egretsnotregrets@gmail.com).
It's an event "where like-minded environmental folks can meet, learn and (perhaps most importantly), have fun," Ms. Altman writes.
Ms. Altman says that like every good fair, there'll be good food and drink (and for those so inclined, there'll be a wine tasting concurrently running in which $22 will participants six glorious tastings of Harbinger Wine; the bar also has alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and the Gaslamp has a full dinner menu too).
