(Sept. 16, 2010) -- NLB advocate and community omnipresence Dan Pressburg invites the public to a Congressional Brunch at which multiple candidates have indicated they'll be present.
The event takes place Saturday, Sept. 18 at the historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery, 167 E. South St. from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m...and among those who've told Mr. Pressburg they'll attend are 37th dist. Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D., Long Beach-Carson) and Repub challenger Star Parker. 39th Cong. dist. challenger Repub Larry Andre says he'll be present; Cong. Linda Sanchez (D., Lakewood/South Gate/Whittier) said she'll try to attend, Mr. Pressburg says. A highlight is expected to be 36th Cong. dist. (southbay) challenger Repub Mattie Fein, who's drawn considerable internet attention in challenging incumbent Cong. Jane Harman (D., southbay) with a political ad titled "Young Mattie Fein vs. Jane Harman." Ms. Fein's ad is a professionally produced parody of Young Frankenstein in which candidate Fein sandpapers/ridicules Congresswoman Harman's voting record and alleged financial ties to companies that have business ties to Iran. "It's not a debate or forum but an opportunity to meet the candidates [one on one] and discuss their vision for Congress," Mr. Pressburg says.
