(Sept. 15, 2010) -- Long Beach's first ever Green is Greater Festival, an event created and organized by GreaterLongBeach.com publisher Dave Wielenga and EgretsNotRegrets.com publisher Heather Altman, launches Saturday The innovative event is an opportunity for [Mr. Wielenga's words] "the often-fragmented environmental movement to unite during a day of music, art and message-carrying." There's further info on EgretsNotRegrets.com, click here. Eight bands will perform in six hours, described in tantalizing detail by Mr. Wielenga on GreaterLongBeach.com, click here. Ms. Altman says there'll be a 33/33/33 drawing with tickets $5 each or 5 tickets for $20 (a bargain); at the end of the evening, a winner will be drawn...and the winner will get 1/3 of the pot. The winner then designates which of the participating organizations/clubs get 1/3 of the pot and the Egrets Not Regrets Scholarship Fund at CSULB (recently organized by Ms. Altman) will get 1/3 of the pot. Ms. Altman invites everyone to attend the free event -- Saturday, Sept. 18 from noon to 6 p.m. at The Gaslamp, 6251 E. PCH -- for an opportunity to hear great live music, learn about local groups, check out various arts and crafts booths, enjoy food and drink, and buy those beneficial 33/33/33 tickets. She adds, "Who knows....you may walk away with more money than when you entered....and local organizations/clubs benefit too!" The Green is Greater Festival is co-hosted by EgretsNotRegrets.com and GreaterLongBeach.com, in conjunction with The Gaslamp Restaurant and Bar (www.thegaslamprestaurant.com). blog comments powered by Disqus
