(Sept. 9, 2012, 6:10 p.m.) -- The Bristol Farms specialty grocery store (2080 Bellflower Blvd.) in the Los Altos Shopping Center is being transformed into a Lazy Acres Market.

The grocery store remains open for business as remodeling is underway. and the Long Beach location will become only the second Lazy Acres Market in California.

The Lazy Acres Market in Santa Barbara describes itself on its website as "your best source for wholesome, natural, and organic foods and products." It states, "Lazy Acres Market is about natural foods and real people dedicated to providing unmatched personal service. Our people go out of their way to make the Lazy Acres experience enjoyable every time you come by."

Inside the soon to be former Bristol Farms location now being remodeled, signs stating that the remodel is bringing a better shopping experience to Long Beach are visible on closed and partitioned off sections of the store: the Bristol Café, the Bristol Deli and the hard goods sections of the store.

Store employees who answered the phone today (Sept. 9) in Santa Barbara and at the Bristol Farms location corroborated that the change is underway but superiors weren't immediately available for further details. LBReport.com will add further here as received.

Lazy Acres Market was founded in 1991 as a privately held boutique natural foods grocery store with in-house departments that prepare foods from scratch daily from as many locally sourced organic foods as possible. Several independent internet sources indicate Lazy Acres Market is owned and operated by Bristol Farms.

Other changes in the Los Altos Center include the former Borders location currently being remodeled into medical offices and across Stearns Street (in the North Los Altos Center) the former Elgin Vision Center is being remodeled into East Long Beach's sixth Starbucks.
