LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona says that at about 12:08 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Tulane Ave. regarding a residential burglary in progress. The calling party indicated the suspect had just fled his residence (unclear if the resident was at home or came home an interrupted the suspect; that information wasn't in the call.)

Officers set up a containment perimeter and conducted a search for the suspect. LBPD's helicopter ("Fox") and K9 assisted with the search...but the suspect isn't in custody.
