Man Is Shot, Area Artesia Blvd/East of Cherry Ave.

(Sept. 26, 2015, 6:15 a.m.) -- In the second of three shootings overnight, a man was shot in the predawn hours this morning (Sept. 26) in the area of Artesia Blvd. just east of Cherry Ave. (9th Council district.)

LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Jeff Berkenkamp tells LBREPORT.com that at about 2:43 a.m., North Division patrol officers heard what sounded like gunfire in the area of Artesia/Cherry; they headed to the location...and at Artesia/Minnesota (just east of Cherry) they found a man (adult) with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds...and LBPD is investigating the shooting as possibly gang related.

About four and a half hours earlier, a woman (adult) was shot in 1400 block of Chestnut Ave. (a little over a mile north of City Hall, near 14th St. Park/Seaside Park.) LBREPORT.com coverage here.
