(Sept. 7, 2015) -- As reported and updated on our front page in real time with on-scene reports and photos by Charlie McGrail, an SCE power outage affected the neighborhood roughly east of Palo Verde/north of Wardlow Rd. in the Hackett St. area in the 5:00 a.m. hour on Sept. 5 after a wooden crossarm on a power pole broke and attached wires fell.

LBREPORT.com reader McGrail -- who owns/operates McGrail Services (ELB-based business provides air conditioning system installations/repair, heating repair/servicing) -- accurately reported before dawn that the neighborhood lost power after wires came down down from a power pole and the pole's broken crossarm was visible.
SCE's website put the time of the outage start at 5:24 a.m. By the 6:00 a.m. hour, an SCE crew was visible on scene making repairs. SCE's website said that at its height, 824 customers (SCE accounts) were affected. By 7:22 a.m., 380 customers remained affected with restoration expected for most by 1:00 p.m.. By the 4:00 p.m. hour, 31 customers remained without power, with restoration estimated by 7 p.m. SCE's website called the outage cause "equipment problems."
