(Sept. 7, 2015) -- LB's Downtown Marina area saw a sizable police presence at late afternoon Sunday (Sept. 6) after LBPD received a report of a man with a gun. LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona tells LBRPEORT.com the situation appeared to be a case of road rage; arriving officers contacted the caller and located an unoccupied vehicle that matched the description; several officers were on-scene to assist; further investigation led to a subject nearby, who was detained...and ultimately arrested...although a gun wasn't recovered. An LBREPORT.com reader captured the sequence of events as the subject complied with officers' directions, lay down on the ground and was taken into custody (photo series below.) The reader says he saw roughly 20-30 officers (many outside of photo view.) "They were ready for whatever happened...there was no getting away." LBPD PIO Arrona says the man was booked on suspicion of assault with a firearm and a vehicle was towed...but a gun wasn't recovered. [Scroll down for further.] |
