(Sept. 30, 2015) -- Long Beach had two stabbings within two hours today (Sept. 30), following a third stabbing two days earlier (Sept. 28.) All the stabbings were in broad daylight: two at midafternoon, a third at midmorning.
LBPD says that earlier today (Sept. 30):
- (Info via LBPD PIO Sgt. Brad Johnson) A stabbing occurred in the area of 10th/Linden...and the victim walked to the 500 block of LB Blvd. where officers responded at about 4:00 p.m. and from where LBFD transported the victim to a hospital in stable condition. LBPD is investigating this crime as possibly gang related; no suspects in custody for now.
- (Info per PIO Johnson) About two hours earlier at roughly 2 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of South St., found a man (adult) stabbed by another man (adult); LBFD transported the victim to a hospital, last reported in stable condition; LBPD located the suspect nearby and took him into custody; LBPD says the motive for this crime is under investigation.
- (Info via LBPD PIO Nancy Pratt) A stabbing occurred near 20th St./MLK Ave. (roughly three blocks south of newly dedicated "NAACP Park"/2300 block MLK Ave.) The stabbing followed a dispute between the victim and a group of male subjects...and LBPD is investigating the stabbing as possible gang related.
