(Sept. 16, 2015) -- Hundreds of people, mostly from the San Pedro community, protested outside the USS Iowa in San Pedro on Sept. 15 while Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner for President, spoke on his national security priorities for the nation atop the battleship, now a museum. Many protesters carried homemade signs in English and Spanish denouncing Trump's comments regarding Mexican immigrants who entered the U.S. without complying with immigration laws. One common protest sign read, "Trump Not Wanted Here" and another read, "Dump Trump." While many protesters carried signs, others chanted. One chant was "Donald Trump has got to go." A second chant was "Donald Trump: He's a racist."
