(Sept. 7, 2015) -- A family lost their possessions -- including treasured heirlooms -- when thieves stole their locked U-Haul truck while it was parked overnight in the quiet Cal Hts area of Orange Ave./37th St.
LBPD told the family the truck was found -- empty -- in an industrial park north of the 405 freeway and west of the 710 freeway.
The loss is (obviously) devastating...especially since the items included wedding rings, family photos, and other items that have been in the family for years and are simply irreplaceable.

Word of the family's plight spread quickly via Facebook and was picked up by at least one L.A. TV outlet (reporter Hetty Change at NBC4LA.)
Husband Pat Ayers says his wife plans to keep running the downtown business, but the family will be returning to OC to live.
