LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. James Richardson tells LBREPORT.com that on Friday night Sept. 2 at about 9:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call of a possible shooting in the 1700 block of E. Hungerford St. They arrived to find a man (adult) who indicated he was walking in the area when a man (adult) exited a black colored vehicle and fired two shots at him. The gunfire missed him but struck and damaged a vehicle. LBPD is investigating this as possibly gang related.
A day earlier (Sept. 1) at 12:20 a.m., LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Brad Johnson says officers responded to a shots call in the 700 block of E. Pacific Coast Highway; found evidence that a shooting had occurred with multiple rounds fired; no person(s) were hit but more than one vehicle was struck (we don't have a number.) This crime is also being investigated as possibly gang related.
And LBPD's investigations about both crimes are ongoing.
