(Sept. 21, 2018. 6:00 p.m.) -- Long Beach had two more shootings overnight (Sept. 21): 600 block W. 7th St. (Willmore City historic neighborhood at roughly Daisy Ave.) and 1900 block W. Willow (7th dist., a couple of blocks west of Santa Fe.) The shootings took place within roughly 15 minutes of each other, but LBPD says they do not appear to be related.

LBPD Public Information Officer Benjamin Hearst tells LBREPORT.com:

  • Officers located a crime scene in the 600 block of W. 7th St. (near Daisy Ave.) after officers responded to a hospital where a male juvenile was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. LBPD gang detectives responded and the investigation is ongoing.

  • At about 2 a.m., a man (adult) was shot in the 1900 block of W. Willow St.; LBFD transported him to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds; there's no suspect information for now and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
