The following is from a City of LB/City Manager press release, dated January 16, 2001:

"It is with great regret that I have learned that Linda Howell DiMario has announced her resignation as President and CEO from the Long Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (LBACVB) effective September 30, 2001. Ms. DiMario has been a driving force in the development of a new Long Beach. She will continue to be valued for her long and successful service to the City. Under her tenure, the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau flourished and hotel occupancy reached all time highs. I anticipate that the Board will begin recruitment for a replacement within a few weeks."
