Att'n LB Dems: Want To Apply Political Velcro To Some of Cindy Allen's Council Campaign Enablers? It's Easy But You Have To Act Fast

If LBREPORT.com didn't tell you,
who would?
No one in LBREPORT.com's ownership, reporting or editorial decision-making has ties to development interests, advocacy groups or other special interests; or is seeking or receiving benefits of City development-related decisions; or holds a City Hall appointive position; or has contributed sums to political campaigns for Long Beach incumbents or challengers. LBREPORT.com isn't part of an out of town corporate cluster and no one its ownership, editorial or publishing decisionmaking has been part of the governing board of any City government body or other entity on whose policies we report.

(January 8, 2021, 8:50 a.m.) -- In choosing the endorsers of Cindy Allen in LB's 2020 Second District election as our "2020 Outrage of the Year," LBREPORT.com opined in pertinent part: "We believe her contributors' enabling will encourage future candidates and incumbents to offer incomplete and scornful responses [to important questions] in future elections. The damages we believe her contributors did will be repeated unless publicly called out and velcro'd politically..."

Her endorsers shrugged when serious issues arose during the campaign to which the public deserved seriious answers. Instead, she offered non-responsive responses and her campaign tried to smear journalists who broke the story. Now the public has an opportunity to apply political velcro to hold some of her political enablers accountable

The California Democratic Party is about to conduct a mail-in ballot election for positions in the CA Democratic Party's State Central Committee, plum spots to advance themselves in the party's food chain.

No surprise, three of Allen's conspicuous endorsers -- , Herlinda Chico and Jeannine Pearce -- want those positions. (Kerr and Chico are respectively LBUSD and LBCC governing boardmembers; Pearce is the immediate past 2nd dist. Councilwoman who declined to seek a second term after the City Council censured her for conduct during her first term.) You now have a chance to hold these Allen political bobbleheads accountable for their actions and prevent their advance now.

It's easy to do but you have to move quickly.

If you're a Democrat in Assembly District 70, go to the official ADEM 70 wehsite at: adem.cadem.org (If Patrick O'Donnell is your Assemblyman, you're in AD 70.)

  • When you receive your ADEM 70 ballot, apply your political velcro and DON'T vote for Allen's endorsers -- Megan Kerr, Herlinda Chico and Jeannine Pearce. (After they endorsed Allen, you don't want them rising in CA's Dem Party apparatus, do you?):

Caveat: The Democrat party's process may not involve a totally secret ballot. It appears you'll be sent (email or hard copy) some kind of an ID number to enter on your ballot. It's not immediately clear to us how this might be used or abused, but don't let it deter you.

Remember what the Allen campaign's endorsers and monied contributors did to prevent veteran grassroots activist and Reform Ticket candidate Robert Fox from becoming a City Council vote for overdue changes. Now's your chance to deliver the kind of political pay-back they won't like but will understand.
