Att'n LB Dems: Now's Your Moment To Apply Political Velcro To Some of Cindy Allen's Campaign Enablers. Here's How

If LBREPORT.com didn't tell you,
who would?
No one in LBREPORT.com's ownership, reporting or editorial decision-making has ties to development interests, advocacy groups or other special interests; or is seeking or receiving benefits of City development-related decisions; or holds a City Hall appointive position; or has contributed sums to political campaigns for Long Beach incumbents or challengers. LBREPORT.com isn't part of an out of town corporate cluster and no one its ownership, editorial or publishing decisionmaking has been part of the governing board of any City government body or other entity on whose policies we report.

(January 23, 2021, 9:50 p.m.) -- If you're a Long Beach Democrat in Assembly District 70 (you had Assemblyman O'Donnell on your November ballot), AND IF you registered to vote in a CA Democratic Party mail-in election for positions on the CA Democratic Party's State Central Committee, YOU can now hold accountable three conspicuous endorsers of now 2nd dist. Council incumbent Cindy Allen.

In our opinion, they deserve political velcro for failing to publicly object when Allen failed to provide responsive responses to serious issues that arose during her campaign. Some of those questions remain pending in our view because they were never fully answered and laid to rest.

Instead, Allen's campaign tried to smear journalists who broke stories that raised the issues and relied on the usual suspects' money and machinery to derail Reform Ticket candidate/veteran neighborhood advocate Robert Fox. In our view, Allen's campaign exemplified the worst in LB politics.

Three of Allen's conspicuous endorsers -- Megan Kerr, Herlinda Chico and Jeannine Pearce -- now want positions on the CA Democratic Party's State Central Committee. Kerr and Chico are respectively LBUSD and LBCC governing boardmembers; Pearce is the immediate past 2nd dist. Councilwoman censured by the City Council her for conduct during her first term. In our opinion, handing these three a party reward would send a terrible message. Fortunately, grassroots LB Dems can send a better message..

If you registered to vote in the ADEM 70 election, you recently received a ballot. That means YOU can now hold these Allen political windmills accountable for their actions and prevent their advance in the party's food chain.

It's very simple. Just DON'T vote for Kerr, Chico or Pearce. Vote for any others on the ADEM 70 ballot (they're all Dems) just not these three.

In our opinion, if Kerr, Chico and Pearce fall short in votes needed, it will send a therapeutic grassroots message about what thoughtful Dems expect from candidates in LB elections.
