ELB Pony League Baseball Will Hold Fundraising Tournament Apr. 24-26 For Ron Percy, Admired Coach Injured In Carson/Palo Verde Traffic Accident

Coach Percy(April 22, 2003) -- ELB Pony League Baseball will hold a fundraising tournament April 24-26 with proceeds going to the family of Ron Percy, a widely admired coach in the league's Mustang Division now slowly recovering from a serious traffic accident March 29 at Carson St./Palo Verde Ave.

Coach Percy's son plays in the ELB Pony league (based in Heartwell Park) and his daughter plays Heartwell Girl's Softball.

ELB Pony's fundraiser and tournament for Coach Percy will take place each day -- April 24, 25 and 26 -- at 5:00 p.m. at their fields near the corner of Woodruff Ave. and Carson St.

A written release says, "For years, Ron has been a coach and mentor to many young children in the league. Please join us in supporting Ron Percy and his family. In addition to the proceeds from the softball tournament and t-shirt sales, we will also donate all the proceeds from a bake sale and raffle to the Percy family. Cash donations and raffle prizes are being accepted and are greatly appreciated."
