April 30 Nighttime Shooting, 7th/St. Louis

(April 30, 2004) -- An shooting has taken place in the area of 7th St. and St. Louis Ave. on April 30.

Details are very sketchy as we post.

LBPD's initial information indicates that a male adult and a female were walking south on St. Louis from the area of 10th St. in the evening and apparently having a verbal argument, when a male black suspect allegedly approached on foot at the NW corner of 7th and St. Louis near a pay telephone. The suspect confronted the male adult and shot him in the abdoment with a handgun, then fled on foot.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital. Further to follow as newsworthy (click reload or refresh on your browser for updates.) has separately learned of a nighttime shooting that apparently occurred on April 29 in the area of 7th St. near Orizaba Ave. Details on this are pending. We have no information at this point indicating whether the two shootings are related.

    Further also to follow.
