(April 23, 2019, 5:28 a.m.) -- Long Beach had another "ghost shooting" on Monday night (April 22) with personal testimony from a gunshot victim as to the location but officers unable to find witnesses or evidence of a crime scene at that site.
LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Gerry Prieto tells LBREPORT.com that at about 11:08 p.m., officers were sent to the 2100 block of Pine Ave. where a wounded man indicated he'd been shot in the area of Artesia Blvd./Atlantic Ave. Officers went to the victim-indicated area, conducted a search but were unable to find witnesses or evidence of a crime scene at that location. [LBREPORT.com comment: This shooting, like other LB "ghost shootings," might have been independently indicated (within seconds) if LB City Councilmembers funded and directed deployment of gunfire location technology.
