(April 28, 2020, 12:55 a.m.) -- On April 27, LBREPORT.com reported the following events on our front page and Facebook platform:

  • At the City's April 27 briefing, Mayor Garcia announces more locations for tests of persons WITH symptoms and appointment required for walk-up ability at LBCC PCH campus, testing within days at LBCC ELB campus and additional NLB site being set up by state at location to be announced,

    But NONE of these will offer tests for persons without symptoms [although locations in Riverside County already routinely do so; Mayo offers no explanation for this but says

  • Garcia says LB has offered over 3,500 tests at its city sites and with private test sites total is roughly 7,800 ttests donein LB. Garcia says this meets one of Governor Newsom's requirements to begin reopenings. Garcia says LB re-openings will begin slowly in a matter of weeks, not months, says in coming days City will solicit ideas from various business groups on how LB reopenikngs should occur.
  • 582 cumulated COVID-19 positive test results, roughly 348 have recovered.
  • CAVEAT: (LA County study indicates number with antibodies may be roughly 40 times higher (coverage here)
  • No additional deaths, toll remains at 31
