Another CD6 Shooting, Casings Found, 2200 block Myrtle (Councilwoman Saro)

(April 14, 2021, 4:50 a.m.) -- Councilwoman Suely Saro's 6th Council district -- already with the city's highest number of shootings (total persons wounded + casings found + homicides) since Jan. 1 -- had another shooting on April 12.

LBPD Public Information Officer Richard Mejia tells LBREPORT.com that on April 12 at about 11:40 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Myrtle Avenue (west of MLK between PCH and Willow) regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers found evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred.

Suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival; no injuries were reported; the motive for the shooting is currently unknown and LBPD's investigtion is ongoing..

It's CD 6/Saro's 21st shooting since Jan. 1 (22 if one counts an April 11 shooting in the 200 block of E. Spring St on the border of CD 6/CD 7 (LBREPORT.com coverage here.) .
