(April 14, 2021, 4:45 a.m.) -- LB's Wrigley neighborhood had a shooting on April 11 near the NE corner of Veterans Park (border CD 6/Saro and CD 7/Uranga.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Brandon Fahey tells LBREORT.coma that on April 11 at about 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of E Spring St. and found evidence, including bullet casings, indicating a shooting had occurred.

PIO Fahey says as officers arrived on scene, a reporting party stated they believed a shooting victim had self-transported to a hospital; officers went to the hospital, contacted a man (adult) with gunshot wounds. He was last reported in stable condition and LBPD says he refused to provide a statement to officers regarding the incident.

"Through their preliminary investigation, officers learned a male adult suspect approached the victim on foot near an alley, shot him, and fled the area in a white vehicle before officers arrived on scene," PIO Fahey says.

LBPD says at this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown and its investigation is ongoing, .
