(August 13, 2020, 7:45 a.m.) -- LB's Health Dept has issued a revised health order with updated protocols regarding the reopening LB's K-12 schools. The basic rules remain: all LB schools will remain online only until at lesat Oct. 5...and possibly thereafter because some of LB's COVID-19 rates are currently above levels Sacramento considers allowable for reopening. If/when they do reopen, they must meet detailed protocols spelled out in Appendixes X1 and X2 linked below.

The order notes tha all LA County K-12 schools, including those in LB, [City release text] "may open only for remote learning until the County is off Sacramento's] monitoring list for 14 consecutive days. The Health Department has issued a staged approach to enable schools to reopen safely through its Long Beach Reopening Protocols for K-12 Schools (Appendix X1) and the COVID-19 Exposure Management Plan: Protocol for K-12 Schools (Appendix X2) once the County is off the Monitoring List.

The Appendixes containing the rules are lengthy and detailed. Appendix X1 is 17 pages. Appendix X2 is 6 pages.

The revised health order also updates protocols on youth sports leagues, dine-in restaurants and golf. The Health Department also issued an amendment to the Licensed Congregate Health Care Facilities Order.

All of the current Health Orders are collecyed at this link.
