UPDATE: SCE Rolling Blackouts Hit SE LB On Saturday After These LB Areas On Friday (See Maps)

(Aug. 15, 2020, UPDATED 9:05 p.m.) -- Rolling blackouts, officially known as rotating outages, affected parts of ELB on Saturday after affecing other parts of LB on Friday. They were short, starting about 6:45 and lasting less than ann hour

SCE's website says rotating outages are a "last eresort" when (CA's Independent System Operator) says the system must shed demand. SCE shuts down power by geoigraphical groups, and did so in four groups statewide on Friday (Aug. 14) -- and two of the groups included parts of Long Beach. On Saturdya, one of the groups included ELB.
