LB School Board President Bobbie Smith Won't Seek Re-Election

(December 16, 2003) -- LB School Board President Bobbie Smith announced at the board's Dec. 16 meeting that she will not seek reelection in 2004.

After citing a number of awards recently received by LBUSD, Board President Smith said:

"So it is with great pride in what you do so well, and all you will do in all the years ahead that I announce [that] this spring, I will be completing my fourth and final term on the Board of Education. Although I will not be seeking reelection, I will be leaving the district in very good capable hands," Board president Smith said.

Following her remarks, the other Boardmembers and LBUSD staff gave her a standing ovation.
