(Dec. 8, 2018, updated 10:25 a.m. from 9:25 a.m.) -- In a release this morning, LBPD announced the arrest of a suspect in the Dec. 1 fatal shooting (Pacific/4th St., 2 a.m.) of 24-year old LB resident Anna Perez. In its release, LBPD states:
On Friday, December 7, 2018, Long Beach Police Department Homicide Detectives executed search warrants in the cities of Sylmar and Los Angeles related to the murder of 24-year-old Anna Perez on December 1, 2018. [10:25 s.m. update] The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. website indicates a person with arrestee's name and age was booked on Dec. 7 with a description consistent with the suspect description indicated by witnesses in LBPD's Dec. 2 press release (below.) The website also indicates the individual was arrested by LAPD on April 3, 2018, booked at LAPD's 77th St. station on an unspecified charge (charge level not indicated) and released on April 10, 2018 [details not available.] [end update] Information above reported as breaking with futher to follow. As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, LBPD stated in a Dec. 2 release: [LBPD Dec. 2 release text] On Saturday, December 1, 2018, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers assigned to the Downtown Entertainment District responded to the area of 4th Street and Pacific Avenue after hearing what they believed to be several gunshots.
