(December 20, 2019) -- A man was shot/wounded on Thursday night (Dec. 19) in the area of Alamitos Ave./7th St., less than 12 hours after a man was shot/wounded in LB's Cambodia Town/MacArthur Park (LBREPORT.com coverage here)

LBPD Public Information Officer Jennifer De Prez tells LBREPORT.com (preliminary information) that at about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 19 officers responded to the 900 block of E. 7th St. regarding a reported shooting and found a man (adult) with a gunshot wound; LBPD transported him to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. LBPD's preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in the area of Alamitos/7th a short time prior when an unknown suspect shot at him. Officers described the victim as uncooperative during the preliminary investigation. There's no immediate suspect description or motive.

The area is in the 1st Council district and a few blocks south of the 6th dist. The 7th/Alamitos shooting is the fifth shooting (incl. a Nov. homicide) in 1st dist. since Councilwoman Zendejas elected Nov. 5. The nearby 6th Dist. has had three non-fatal shootings since Dec. 1.
