(UPDATED December 23, 2019, 6:45 a.m.) -- The National Weather Service forecasts rain or showers for Long Beach (sometimes high chance, sometimes slight chance) through Thursday (the day after Christmas).

For today (Monday Dec. 23) the Nat'l Weather Service forecasts "showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10am. Some of the storms could produce small hail...Chance of precipitation is 100%" and tonight "A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a chance of showers between 10pm and 4am. Some of the storms could produce small hail...Chance of precipitation is 40%."

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers between 10am and 4pm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers between 10pm and 4am, then a chance of rain after 4am. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Christmas Day: Rain likely, mainly after 10am. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday Night: Rain. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Thursday: Rain likely before 10am, then showers likely, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Thursday Night:A chance of showers before 10pm. .

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 64.
