(December 2, 2020) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that LB had a second shooting on November 28. 2300 block of Myrtle Avenue (CD 6.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Allison Gallagher says that on Nov. 28 at about 11:45pm, officers heard gunshots in the 2300 block of Myrtle Avenue and found several parked vehicles had been struck by bullets.

No victims or witnesses were located; the suspects fled prior to officers’ arrival; the motive is unknown.

As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, on Nov. 28, multiple residents in LB's south Wrigley neighborhood (CD 6) in the 2200 block of Earl Ave. found their parked vehicles with bullet holes and strike marks. (LBREPORT.com coverage .here.)

Less than 24 hour earlier on Nov. 27, gunfire flew in the 200 block of E. 29th St. (CD 6 between LB Blvd. and Veterans Park), striking a building (LBREPORT.com coverage here.)

A couple of hours before the E. 29th St. gunfire flew in Wrigley-adjacent Central LB areas. A man was shot/wounded in the area of LB Blvd./19th St. (CD 6) and, in a separate shooting, a vehicle carrying four people (including two children) was struck by gunfire in the area of 16th./Linden (CD1, no persons hit.) On Nov. 3, CD 6 voters replaced Councilman/Vice Mayor Dee Andrews (elected 2007) with Suely Saro who stated in the campaign that she favors alternatives to restoring police defunded in Council votes (by Andrews) that have left LB without 180+ officers (including LBPD's former field anti-gang unit.)
