Two More LBUSD K-5 Locations (Holmes & Signal Hill) Report Possible COVID-19 Exposures

(Dec. 19, 2020, 4:10 a.m.) -- Two more LBUSD K-5 school sites -- (Holmes Elementary, 5020 Barlin Ave. in Lakewood and Signal Hill Elementary, 2285 Walnut) have notified parents/guardians that their child may have been exposed to COVID-19.

On December 18, Holmes CDC parents were informed of at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in an unidentified person on Dec. 11. and due to the fact the school is "currently experiencing a staffing shortage" and "some of our staff cross over between classrooms, we will have to close the center until December 25th, 2020" and the date for their child's return is December 28th, 2020.

On Dec. 18, Signal Hill Elementary parents/guardians were notified of COVID-19 in an unidentified person on Dec. 15.

As of dawn Dec. 19, LBUSD's COVID-19 Dashboard indicatges that since Sept 1 (and the start of limited K-5 programs), LBUSD reports 158\ total confirmed COVID-19 cases among 114 employees, 32 students and 12 vensors/visitors.
