    Some Unhappy Alleged Hookers & Their Customers: LBPD Busts 17 Persons On Vice & Other Charges, 2500 Block E. PCH

    (February 28, 2003) -- In direct response to community concerns in the area, LBPD says its Vice Detectives and East Division Community Policing team conducted a seven hour undercover operation in the 2500 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, targeting prostitution and other criminal activity.

    LB cops made 17 arrests:

    • Solicitation of prostitution: 14 men arrested
    • Indecent exposure and solicitation of prostitution: 1 person arrested
    • Loitering for purposes of prostitution: 1 person arrested
    • Possession of illegal narcotics and parole violation: 1 person arrested

    After completing the operation, LBPD's East Division Community Policing Team canvassed the area, distributing fliers that advised local residents of the anti-crime sweep.
