(Feb 10, 2019) -- In a shooting that LBPD says is NOT being investigated as a gang-related, a man was shot/wounded on Sunday night (Feb. 10) in the 3700 block of Albury Ave. (one block west of Woodruff Ave., 1 block north of Conant St.)

Information is sketchy about what occurred. LBPD Public Information Officer Arantxa Chavarria tells LBREPORT.com that a about 11:05 p.m., officers were sent to a possible shooting in the 3700 block of Albury and found a man (adult) inside his residence with a gunshot wound. LBFD transported him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There's no immediate suspect information and PIO Chavarria says the incident isn't being investigated as gang-related.

Shootings of any kind are exceedingly rare in LB's 5th Council district...although one conspicuous example is last year's fatal shooting of Fred Taft in a restroom at Pan American Park on July 21, 2018, a murder that remains unsolved.
