In its release, SHPD indicates that at about 12:17 a.m. Sat. Feb. 23, SHPD received a call regarding the shooting in the 1100 block of E. Wardlow Rd. (Lona's City Limits Cantina.) Officers arrived and [SHPD release text] "located a large group of people that stated there was a fight between several people and someone had fired a gun into the crowd. Several shell casings were located in the alley to the rear of the location, within the City of Signal Hill. Originally no victims were located, but while investigating the incident, officers were notified that a victim walked into a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand. The suspect is still outstanding; detectives are gathering evidence and reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area."
