(Feb. 20, 2020, 4:30 p.m.) -- A man was shot/wounded a little after 2 a.m. today (Feb. 20) just west of the 710 freeway near Anaheim St....and responding officers found blood splatter in the 1500 block of W. 15th St., two blocks north of Anaheim St. and one block east of Santa Fe. Ave. (1st Council district.)

The overnight gunfire west of the L.A. river comes barely ten hours after afternoon gunfire (Feb. 19) with no persons apparently hit near Veterans Park in the Wrigley district (crime scene 100 block E. 28th St. east of Magnolia Ave., 6th district.)

It's the second shooting in four days in LB's 1st Council district; on Feb. 16 a man was shot (and killed) found in an alleyway in the area of at 6th St./Lime Ave. in LB's East Village.

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Alvino Herrera says LBPD responded at about 2 a.m. afer a 20 year old man said he heard a loud "pop," observed his injury and went to a family member's residence who took him to a hospital and couldn't provide officers with any suspect information.

LBPD says the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.
