(February 8, 2021) -- In the second shooting within two days in LB's 8th Council district (Austin), following a multi-party gunfight less than a week earlier, a man was shot/wounded in the 5400 block of Long Beach Blvd. on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 7).

LBPD Watch Commander Lt. Scott Jenson says (preliminary information) that on February 7th, 2021, at approximately 2 p.m., officers were sent to the 5400 block of Long Beach Blvd regarding a shooting that had just occurred. The found a man (adult) with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound; LBFD treated him and transorted him to a hospital.

LBPD says the motive for the shooting isn't known at this time and its investigation is ongoing,

On Saturday Feb. 6, a shooting occurred in the 5400 block of Olive Ave. On Feb. 1, a gunfight -- with rounds exchanged by multiple suspects -- sent an uninvolved woman to a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 8th district neighborhood west of LB Blvd. and south of Market St.
