(Jan. 13, 2019, 2:05 p.m.) -- LBPD is investigating the January 12, 2019 fatal shooting of a woman, brought to a Lakewood hospital on Saturday night shortly before midnight. It's unclear exactly where the shooting occurred; LBPD searched a possible location in the area of Paramount Blvd./South St. but found no evidence of a shooting at that location.

In a Jan. 13 release, LBPD said at about 11:50 p.m. on Jan. 12, LBPD officers were dispatched to a Lakewood hospital to assist LASD in connection with a woman with a gunshot wound to her torso. LBPD's release identifies the victim as Keshawn Castilow, 25, of Anaheim.

LBPD is currently investigating whether the fatal shooting took place in Long Beach, and if so, where and under what circumstances. For now, LBREPORT.com isn't counting this as LB's first homicide pending further LBPD investigation. .

LBPD asks anyone with information regarding what took place to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Sean Irving, Ben Vargas, and Ricardo Solorio at (562) 570-7244.
