(Jan. 27, 2019, 8:25 a.m.) -- LBPD says shots were fired in the 3 p.m. hour Saturday (Jan. 26) in a South Wrigley neighborhood (Hill/Earl, 6th Council district) but additional information is sketchy after two groups (who? how many?) engaged in an "altercation" (over what?) Two vehicles were hit by the gunfire, although no persons were struck.
In preliminary information, LBPD Public Information Officer/Detective Jennifer Arzola tells LBREPORT.com that at about 3:22 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Hill Street/Earl Avenue regarding a shots call and found two vehicles hit by gunfire. A preliminary investigation indicates an altercation occurred between two groups walking in the area and an unidentified male suspect shot at a group of unidentified males. The victims and the suspects both fled on foot. No persons were reported injured although some persons now own bullet-damaged vehicles. LBPD's preliminary information didn't offer a motive for the shooting and the investigation is on-going. [Scroll down for further.] |
