(Jan. 4, 2019) -- Noon-hour gunfire in downtown Long Beach -- in the 600 block of E. Ocean Blvd. (2nd Council district) east of Atlantic Ave., a bit west of the "round" Int'l Tower (700 E. Ocean) and about a block west of the new luxury residential "The Current" (707 E. Ocean) -- struck and damaged two parked vehicles but didn't hit any individuals.

LBPD Public Information Officer Shaunna Dandoy tells LBREPORT.com that at about 12:49 p.m. today (Jan. 4), LBPD officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 600 block of East Ocean Blvd. and found evidence that a shooting had just occurred. "Initial investigation determined that two parked vehicles were struck by gunfire," says PIO Dandoy, who adds that no persons were hit, no suspects have been identified and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
