(Jan. 6, 2020, 10:30 a.m.) -- A woman (adult) was shot/wounded in the area of 21st St/Locust Ave.(6th dist.) in the eastern portion of the Wrigley District on Sunday night (Jan. 5).
LBPD Public Information Officer Jennifer De Prez says (preliminary information) that at about 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 5, officers responded to the area of E. 21st day and Locust Ave. regarding a reported shooting victim and found a woman (adult) with gunshot wounds.
LBFD transported her to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
LBPD's preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in an alley behind a residence in the 2100 block of Locust when a group of men (adults) confronted her and shot at her. LBPD found casings at the scene; a motive for the shooting isn't immediately known.
