(Jan. 14, 2020) -- Two men were shot/wounded in NLB on Monday night (Jan. 13) inside a location along Artesia Blvd. at Lemon Ave. where LBPD suspects (in a preliminary investigation) illegal gambling activity occurred. .

LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Rico Fernandez tells LBREPORT,.com that at on Jan. 13 at about 9:20 p.m., offiers responded to the 1100 block of E. Artesia Blvd and found a man had been shot/wounded (transported by LBFD to a hosptail and learned tha another man had taken himself to a hospital with a gunshot wound. Both victims were reported in stable condition.

"Vice and gang detectives responded to the location and their "preliminary information revealed the shooting occurred inside of an alleged illegal gambling facility."

In recent months, LB has had shootings associated with alleged illegal gambling and LBPD has raided and made arrests at locations of alleged illegal gambling.

Dec. 3, 6400 block of LB Blvd., LBPD serves search warrant/arrested 11 persons at site of alleged illegal gambling.

Oct. 16, PCH/Walnut: LBPD raids site of alleged illegal gamling.

Oct. 15: 10th St. west of LB Blvd.: man is shot/killed at site of suspected gambling acivity.

Oct. 8, Anaheim St. near Stanley Ave., LBPD arrests 8 persons at site of alleged illegal gambling.

Aug. 22: 1500 block W. PCH,man is fatally shot at where illegal gambling activity
