Gunman Opens Fire On A Man And A Woman Walking on Lemon Ave. (6th Dist. Just North of PCH/Near LBCC); Man Is Hit/Wounded

(Feb. 2, 2020, 12:15 p.m.) -- -A man was shot/wounded on Jan. 29 in the area of PCH/Lemon Ave. (6th Council district, just west of LBCC.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Jennifer De Prez tells LBREPORT.com that at about 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 29, officers responded to a report of shots heard in the 1800 block of Lemon Ave. (just north of PCH) and found a man (adult) with a gunshot wound. He told officers he was walking in the area with a woman (adult) when a man approached them in a vehicle, exited the vehicle and opened fire toward them, then fled in a white four-door sedan. The suspect is outstanding; the motive is currently unknown; LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

The shooting comes a little less than four months after a man was shot/wounded on Sept. 14, 2019 in the area of PCH/Lemon.
