The sums listed above are in addition to at least two (that we know of) "independent expenditure" PACs that have surfaced, raising sums to run their own campaigns to support a candidate. (An independent expenditure campaign is forbidden by law from coordinating their efforts with the candidate or his/her campaign.) One independent expenditure campaign is titled "Ethical Leadership PAC, supporting Al Austin and Dee Andrews for City Council 2020." Another is titled "Committee on Behalf of Working Families to Support Tunua Thrash-Ntuk for Council 2020 Sponsored by Labor Organizations" Watch for details in LBREPORT.com "Follow the Money" coverage of the campaigns coming shortly.
If no candidate receives 50%+1 of votes cast in the March 5 election, the top two finishers proceed to a November 2020 runoff. No candidates surfaced to challenge 4th dist. Council incumbent Daryl Supernaw.
